Alternatives To Cut Flowers This Mother’s Day
3min read
Flowers are beautiful, there’s no denying it. But cut flowers often don’t last as long as we’d like them to. They make such a great treat, but if you’re looking for something more long-term, affordable and even sustainable than a bouquet of flowers, then you’ve come to the right place.
House plants
Okay, we’ll admit it, we’re still big into house plants. It’s not a trend for us, it’s a way of life. The best thing about house plants is there are so many to choose from: from near-on-impossible-to-kill right up to the attention-demanding (but-well-worth-its).
Dried flowers
How do you buy someone a bouquet of flowers that will last forever? Get them dried flowers.
So, this isn’t such an extreme alternative but it does have a significant difference. They might be a little pricier, but if they’re left alone then they’ll truly stand the test of time.
Herb garden
Does everyone share the dream of a little kitchen garden, or is that just us? In the time being, we’re happy to settle with a few select pots of our most used herbs. Rosemary, anyone?
Seed starter kit
Give mum the gift of satisfaction and some seeds to grow from scratch. It might be a little bit late in the year for most bulbs now, but there are plenty of seeds that are more than happy to be sown right up until June.
Cactus
What says ‘I appreciate your warm hugs’ better than a cactus? Well, that might be a slight joke, but if you want your present to be around for as long as possible, then a cactus might just be the right answer.
