If you’re not quite up to date with That Vegan Teachers’ heated exploration into Crayola markers and whether or not they’re vegan, then you’ve come to the right place.

Crayola is an American company, which specialise in art supplies. they’re best known for their namesake brand Crayola, and their colourful markers and crayons.
Are Crayola markers suitable for vegans?
The answer appears to be no, Crayola Markers aren’t suitable for vegans according to Double Checked Vegan, Crayola is ‘produced using stearic acid. Stearic acid can be from plant or animal sources. Crayola says theirs is animal-derived.’
Do Crayola test their markers on animals?
No, according to this video from That Vegan Teacher, Crayola confirmed with her that they don’t test their markers on animals. In fact, Crayola even offers lesson plans on stopping animal cruelty.
However, the fire was stoked when she couldn’t get a clear answer as to why the markers weren’t suitable for vegans. Watch out for more updates.
