by Toni Olukiran

1min read

Grapes come in a variety of colours and varieties, and make the perfect sweet snack. But are grapes healthy? Find out everything you need to know.

Grapes are suggested to have been cultivated for around 8000 years, and the oldest winery in the world is said to date all the way back to 4000 BC in Georgia. Now, over 10,000 different varieties of grapes are grown around the world, and Italy is the biggest producer.

Do grapes have nutritional value?

The fruit has several properties that give it high nutritional value, including:

  • A good source of potassium, which is necessary for balancing and regulating fluids and also for muscle contraction.
  • Good source of vitamins B, C and E
  • High levels of folate, which is important for making healthy red blood cells.

Are grapes good for you?

Yes, grapes are good for you. Though they do have medium sugar levels, these tend not to really matter since they are naturally-occuring.
