Are Lotus Biscuits Vegan?

by Toni Olukiran

1min read

Lotus Biscuits have a distinctive taste that is perfect with a brew or used to bake sweet treats. But are they vegan? Find out here.

What are Lotus Biscuits?

Lotus biscuits, or Lotus speculoos biscuits, are a type of shortbread biscuit that originated in Belgium and the Netherlands. They are distinctive in flavour due to being spiced; typically speculoos biscuits contain cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and cardamom. It has also resulted in the creation of Biscoff spread, which has a consistency reminiscent of nut butter and is also very popular.

Are they vegan?

Yes, Lotus biscuits are vegan-friendly! The crunchy, delicious treats contain no animal bi-products making them a perfect accompaniment with a cup of tea for anyone on a plant-based diet.

Is Biscoff spread vegan then too?

Another win for those on a plant-based diet — Biscoff spread is also vegan! The spread is made of the biscuits with added oils and stabilisers in and no additional animal products.
