Are Polos Vegan?
2min read
These refreshing, round mints go down a treat when they’re offered up. But are they suitable for vegans?
Whether you’re someone who always has a packet of mints on the go, or you’re just someone who likes accepting them when they’re offered, Polos are a refreshing and zingy treat.
What are Polos?
Polos are an instantly recognisable breath mint that is circular with a distinctive hole in the middle. The peppermint Polos were first made in the UK in the early 20th century by a Rowntree employee in York and since then has become an international name. They’re now owned by Nestlé and over the years a number of flavour varieties have been produced.
The name has nothing to do with the sports (water and horseback) but is a ‘polar’ reference to its cool, fresh taste.
Are Polos Vegan?
Yes, Polos are vegan! There are four vegan-friendly staple Polo varieties: Original, Spearmint, Fruit and Sugar-free, all of which are suitable for anyone on a plant-based diet. Occasionally there are limited edition spin-offs, for which it’s always worth checking the label.
