What’s the history of pomegranates? 

This regal fruit is native to large dry stretches of the northern hemisphere from Iran to Northern India including large parts of the Medditerenan, Middle East and South Asia. The fruit tree is thought to be one of the earliest cultivated trees being domesticated as early as seven thousand years ago.

The plant has been transported to North and Central America as well as the Silk Road and appears in traditional Indian medicines.

Are pomegranates good for you? 

To put it simply, yes, the pomegranate is a healthy and nutritional choice.

Why is pomegranate good for you?

This first one might surprise you, but they’re an excellent source of fibre which is key in maintaining good digestive health. They’re also a nutrient-rich fruit so expect to find lots of:

  • Vitamin K
  • Vitamin B
  • Calcium 
  • Potassium
  • Iron

All of these support great overall health from a boosted immune system and better hydration of your muscles and nervous system to a big hit of antioxidants.
