Are Quavers Vegan?

by Fabian Jackson

2min read

Whether you’re preparing a packed lunch or just snacking at home, Quavers are a classic go-to. But are they vegan?

Cheesy, crunchy and ultra-tangy spring to mind when talking about Quavers, but is vegan an appropriate description too?

Quavers

Quavers are curly, twists of crisp-foamy cheesiness. They’re made from potato starch, rice and wheat flour along with a whole host of natural and artificial flavourings.

Are Quavers vegan?

Unfortunately, no, Quavers aren’t suitable for vegans. As well as using cheese powder that’s derived from dairy-milk, they also contain milk powder in other capacities, making them non-vegan.

If you’re looking for some tasty plant-based alternatives to Quavers, why not try Hippeas’ ‘Take it Cheesy’ organic chickpea puffs for a savoury Quaver-like snack? Or check out the crisps edition of our vegan shopping basket.
