The Body Shop has been a big player in the UK beauty scene since starting out in Brighton in 1976 with the aim of making products from ethically-sourced, cruelty-free and natural ingredients.
Are all of The Body Shop products vegan?
Whilst everything for sale in The Body Shop might be 100% vegetarian, not all of their products are fully plant-based. In fact, around half of their skincare, haircare and general beauty products aren’t suitable for vegans due to the use of honey, beeswax and lanolin.
As a certified B-Corporation, The Body Shop has to live up to high ethical and environmental standards in the manufacturing, testing and distribution of goods. This means that they use biodegradable ingredients with a low water footprint and low eco-toxicity that are mostly of a natural origin. They have eco-friendly and conscious packaging and recycling systems in place too.
