Everything You Need To Know About Cashew Milk

by Fabian Jackson

3min read

Here at Planted we’re always keeping an eye out for what’s new in the world of plant-powered goodness, and today we’re looking at cashew milk – what it is, why it’s good for you, where to buy is and even how to make your own cashew milk!

Whether you’ve been vegan for years or you’re simply thinking about upping your plant intake, switching out dairy milk for a plant-based substitute is not only better for you and the environment, but also tastes delicious too.

What is cashew milk?

Firstly – does it taste like cashews?

cashew nuts

Yes, it does. So, if you’re not a fan of cashews’ mild and creamy flavour then maybe this isn’t the plant-based milk for you. However, if you’re ready to elevate your at-home-barista-skills then cashew milk is the creamy stuff your flat white has been missing.

How is cashew milk made?

Cashew milk is made by first soaking the nuts in water before draining, rinsing and blending them with fresh water. Sometimes natural sweeteners like vanilla or maple syrup are added along with a little salt.
