What is chia seed flour?
The execution of creating chia seed flour is as simple as the concept – much like almond flour, chia seeds are simply dried and ground to a fine powder which can be substituted pretty much one for one in any recipe that requires a thick batter or dough. If you’re making something that needs to be on the solid end of the spectrum, like cookies, then a combination of chia flour and other gluten-free flour is recommended.
Can chia seeds be ground into flour?
If you fancy having a go at this yourself, then all you need is a bag of chia seeds and a powerful food processor or, ideally, a coffee grinder. Preferably use your flour immediately, but it will last in an air-tight container for up to two weeks in a cool and dry cupboard.

Chia seeds are a naturally great source of omega-3, this is key in the brain and eye development of children, and is important in maintaining healthy brains and eyes as adults. They can also help improve our body’s hydration levels as well as lowering blood pressure and helping control our blood sugar levels.
