Is Akala vegan?
Yes, Akala has been plant-based for quite some time now. He stated in an interview with The Guardian in 2019 that he had been vegan for over 12 years. He also explained in another profile with GQ that he ‘did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that animal products are not the optimum food for human health’, and that he was inspired by the diets of Jamaican Rastafarians in his decision to switch over to a plant-based diet.
