Is Cerave Vegan And Cruelty-Free?
1min read
Cerave is the latest brand to have skincare professionals and enthusiasts raving, but are their products cruelty-free and vegan? Read on for the full lowdown — and why there is so much confusion around the answer.
What is Cerave?
Cerave is a skincare brand founded in 2006 by dermatologists. The focus of all products is around a blend of three essential ceramides that help strengthen and repair skin cells. It is recommended by dermatologists as the full range is non-comedogenic and works on sensitive and acne-prone skin.
Is Cerave cruelty-free?
Cerave is unfortunately not truly cruelty-free. This is because Cerave is sold in mainland China, where animal testing is required by law to sell beauty products there. As a result, it cannot be considered truly cruelty-free and is not certified by any cruelty-free groups.
Is Cerave vegan?
Cerave products in the UK contain no animal products so can be cited as vegan — however as it is not cruelty-free some may argue that it is not therefore truly vegan, but this is up to the individual.
