Whether you plan on lathering it in plant-based butter and jam, or you’re going to use it to mop up the end of our Hearty Roots Stew, Chickpea bread is a tasty gluten-free and low carb bread. But is it vegan?

Chickpea bread

Chickpea bread is a light and fluffy loaf that’s made from ground chickpea flour. There’s a naturally occurring yeast on chickpeas that are activated when mixed with water and left somewhere warm overnight. The bread originates in Turkey and Albania but is making big waves in the UK at the moment as it’s naturally low in carbohydrates and a gluten-free bread.
