Is Hair Dye Vegan-Friendly?
3min read
Not sure if your hair dye is vegan-friendly and cruelty-free? Keep reading to find out all you need to know.
Is hair dye vegan?
Unfortunately, hair dye isn’t always vegan. A large number of mainstream hair dyes are tested on animals, and some contain animal derivatives, making them inappropriate for vegan use.
The two most common animal-derived products in hair dyes are squalene and vitamin A, both generally sourced from fish, or shark liver oil.
Is hair dye cruelty-free?
As mentioned before, lots of hair dyes are either tested on animals or contain individual ingredients which are animal-tested.
