Is Hazelnut Flour Vegan?
2min read
Whether you’re baking decadent chocolate and hazelnut cake, or something altogether more savoury, hazelnut flour is a great gluten-free ingredient. But is it vegan?
We love to shine the spotlight on cooking alternatives, and today we’re looking at hazelnut flour and whether or not this baking substitute is vegan.
Hazelnut flour
Much like almond flour, hazelnut flour is made entirely from finely ground hazelnuts. It can be used instead of wheat flour in baking and cooking as a gluten-free alternative. It has a subtle flavour profile, but it can be tasted in sweet and savoury recipes. It unsurprisingly pairs well with chocolate but should be baked at low temperatures to avoid over-browning because of the high-fat content in hazelnuts.
Is hazelnut flour vegan?
Yes, hazelnut flour is completely vegan-friendly as it’s made from 100% coarsely ground hazelnuts.
