This traditional French dessert is made up of a shortcrust pastry base, a thick layer of lemon curd and topped with meringue. It’s a sweet and tart pudding that’s hard to put down!
Is lemon meringue pie vegan?
Typically, no, lemon meringue pie isn’t a dessert that’s suitable for vegans for a few reasons. Shortcrust pastry is made with butter that’s generally isn’t vegan, lemon curd can contain gelatine and meringue is made from egg whites.
