Is Malt Loaf Vegan?

Either you’ve found your way here because you’re a massive Soreen fan, or you watched last night’s episode of the Great British Bake Off, and you’re wondering if the first technical challenge is suitable for vegans. Keep reading to find out.
What is malt loaf?
Malt loaf is a tea time classic according to Prue Leith, Paul Hollywood and the produces of Bake Off. It’s a sticky fruit cake made in a loaf tin comprising of tea-soaked prunes, raisins, treacle and plenty of muscovado sugar.
The cake is traditionally sliced and eaten with butter.
Is malt loaf vegan?
No, traditional malt load isn’t vegan as it contains eggs, however, it is possible to make a tasty plant-based version.
