What is malt loaf?

Malt loaf is a tea time classic according to Prue Leith, Paul Hollywood and the produces of Bake Off. It’s a sticky fruit cake made in a loaf tin comprising of tea-soaked prunes, raisins, treacle and plenty of muscovado sugar.

The cake is traditionally sliced and eaten with butter.
