It can be made from any type of edible mushroom but you’re most likely to find reishi, lion’s mane, and shiitake varieties used for their high protein and fibre content great for gut and heart health. As well as those high scorers, mushroom protein powder is even considered to provide energy boosts, improve focus, cognition, and even athletic performance.
Is mushroom protein powder vegan?
Yes, mushroom protein powder should be vegan, but it’s always worth checking the ingredients list for any non-vegan ingredients. A big one to look out for is dairy-based milk powder.
