Is Peppermint Tea Good For You?
2min read
We might choose peppermint tea over something caffeinated, but is it actually good for us?
Peppermint tea
The refreshing drink is made by infusing peppermint leaves in hot water, be that fresh or dried, bagged or loose leaf. It can even be mixed with flavours from fruits or liquorice or simply enjoyed plain.
Why is peppermint tea good for you?
Whilst peppermint tea might not have much going for it nutritionally speaking, there’s plenty of anecdotal evidence that drinking it can relieve bloating making it a popular digestive drink.
As an alternative to caffeinated hot drinks like black tea or coffee, peppermint tea is gold. So whether you’re looking to cut back on your caffeine intake or simply boost your hydration, peppermint tea might be the drink for you.
Is peppermint tea good for you before bed?
Again, there isn’t much research into whether or not it actually helps you get to sleep better, but as it’s caffeine-free, adding a mug of peppermint tea to your pre-bed ritual might aid general relaxation.
