Is Scottish Tablet Vegan?
2min read
A staple across Scotland, tablet is the delicious sweet treat to nibble on whenever you visit. But is it vegan?
What is tablet?
Tablet is a type of sweet or confectionary from Scotland, dating back to around the 18th Century. It is similar to fudge in taste due to similar ingredients, however the texture is different as tablet is a lot more crumbly or coarse.
Is tablet vegan?
Tablet traditionally only had two ingredients: sugar and cream. Nowadays, its made with sugar, butter and condensed milk. As a result, it is not naturally vegan. However, you can buy or make vegan tablet when the sweet tooth strikes.
Where to find vegan tablet
You can buy vegan tablet from the Kilted Fudge Company, with flavours vanilla, chocolate, chocolate orange and chocolate mint. And if you want to make your own, be sure to follow Baked By Chlo’s delicious recipe.
