Is Vegan Mayo Healthy?
1min read
If you’re a fan of the condiment, you’ve probably wondered whether or not vegan mayo is healthy. We’ve got the full lowdown here.
Vegan Mayo
Mayo is a fridge staple, used for sandwiches, burgers, salads, and most controversial of all, cakes (I'm not lying, google it). The condiment is loved by many, and vegan mayo is no exception. Now that vegan mayo has hit supermarkets, vegans and non-vegans alike have been enjoying the plant-based wonder.
Is vegan mayo healthy?
Vegan mayo is generally a bit healthier than egg-based or non-vegan mayo, containing less saturated fats and Vegenaise contains almost no cholesterol, which can’t be said in the case of an original jar of Hellman’s.
That being said, like most things, vegan mayo should be eaten in moderation and as part of a balanced diet. However, this doesn’t mean that vegan mayo isn’t to still be enjoyed — mix into salads, add to your ‘chuna’ sandwich mixes and definitely go ahead and dip your chips in it!
