London Vegan-Friendly Farm-To-Table Restaurants You Need To Know About

by Toni Olukiran

4min read

Eat out with style and sustainability in mind at these top London vegan-friendly farm-to-table restaurants.

What is farm-to-table?

Farm-to-table is a movement where restaurants and cafes source their ingredients from local farms, receiving their produce directly from the producers. This is beneficial for a number of reasons:

  • It boosts the local economy. Farm-to-table invests in local produce which supports local farmers. This boost in the agricultural sector has a knock-on effect on the local economy, as it supports local businesses.
  • You know where your food is coming from. Restaurants have a direct relationship with growers, meaning you know exactly where your food is coming from and the conditions they were grown in.
  • You eat food that is in season. Farm-to-table restaurants often revolve menus around what fruits and vegetables are in season. This means you get the freshest produce in the most delicious, inventive ways possible — yum.
  • It encourages sustainable farming practices. Restaurants that buy their produce locally significantly reduce the ‘food miles’ that can come from sourcing ingredients elsewhere, particularly when the product is usually sourced from abroad.
