The Benefits Of Argan Oil
Argan oil is a much sought-after ingredient for beauty and haircare products — so what is the history behind it, and what are the benefits? Read on for a full breakdown of the interesting ingredients you need to know about.
What is argan oil?
Argan oil is a staple oil in Morocco, used in both cooking as well as beauty products. It is made from pressing and extracting the oil found in kernels from the Argan tree, which is native to Morocco and can only be found there exclusively.
What are the benefits of argan oil?
Argan is said to have several health benefits when consumed. It contains anti-inflammatory properties, can help promote heart health and support the digestive system. Cosmetically, argan oil is used increasingly in beauty and hair products. It is made up of mostly fatty acids that are great natural moisturisers for the skin and hair. It can increase elasticity in skin, helping to slow signs of aging, and help strengthen hair. Some have also found that it helps reduce acne, dark spots and hyperpigmentation.
Is argan oil vegan?
When it is pure, argan oil is absolutely vegan, as it is made from argan kernels. However, argan oil is used in lots of beauty and haircare products which may contain other ingredients which aren’t vegan, so as usually, check the label to avoid any surprises!
