Whether your favourite thing about autumn is the crunch of recently fallen leaves underfoot, or bringing your chunky knitwear out of retirement for the season, we can all agree it’s a rather special time of year. So, how about entering the autumnal season with a vegan pumpkin spice latte in-hand?
What is a pumpkin spiced latte?
Your average vegan pumpkin spice latte (or PSL) contains a lip-smacking concoction of fresh espresso coffee, steamed plant-based milk, a bit of pumpkin puree and lots of expertly picked spices. The spice blend is based on the popular American spice mix called Pumpkin Pie Spice, a tasty combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice and ginger.
Drinking out
Don’t worry die-hard Starbucks fans, its PSL is completely vegan-friendly and tastes great with oat milk (hot or iced) if you’re new to veganising your drinks order.
However, Starbucks don’t own vegan PSLs here in the UK – you’ll find great options at Greggs and Pret a Manger.
Would you rather shop independent? Keep an eye out at your favourite local cafes for their seasonal drinks, maybe one of them will be your new go-to for your vegan pumpkin spice latte fix.
