1. Ben & Jerry’s Release Vegan Ice Cream For Climate Change Awareness

Sainsbury’s is now selling a vegan ice cream from Ben & Jerry’s, named Save Our Swirled, in a bid to confront the issue of climate change through its packaging. The ice cream is plant-based, using an almond milk base, and is coconut flavoured with caramel, chocolate and cookie swirls. The ice cream flavour itself is identical to the Coconutterly Caramel’d flavour released several years ago, but was discontinued in 2018 — so if you missed it, it's now back.

2. Vegan Hotel Wins ‘Good Egg’ National Geographic Award

Scottish hotel Saorsa 1875 has won a National geographic Award for the best ‘stylish, sustainable stay’ in the world. The hotel, which can be found in historic and picturesque Perthshire, was marked against criteria of sustainability and eco-friendliness. It came out on top due to its commitment to an all-vegan approach to hospitality— meaning the food is plant-based of course, but also all toiletries, cleaning products, alcoholic beverages, and upcycled furniture is vegan, too. The heating comes from renewable energy; all produce served in the kitchens is sourced locally and lastly, for every meal served a tree is planted. As the UK's first vegan hotel, it is setting the standards for the future of hospitality high.

3. Violife Launches Vegan Chocolate Spread

This week, Violife revealed the release of a new chocolate vegan spread that is available only in the UK. Made with coconut oil and with extra vitamin B12 added, it’s not surprising that there's a lot of talk about vegans making it a new staple in their shopping baskets. There is no news as of yet about whether it’ll be hitting the supermarkets any time soon, but for now it is available to buy at the Vegan Kind Supermarket.

4. Dominos Has Released Its Vegan Range Across All Of Its Locations

After a trial run of the range in 46 selected locations for a number of months, many people were anticipating a wider release. Two pizzas are available to vegans: Margherita and the vegan veggie supreme, and it comes with the infamous garlic and herb dip, but made vegan. It is now amongst the likes of Pizza Hut and Papa Johns sporting a vegan range of pizza.

This is exclusive to the UK only at the moment, and many Harry Potter fans are pleased to know it suits different dietary requirements.
