What are chia seeds?
Chia seeds are edible seeds from the mint family. Native to Central and South America, chia seeds are used often in cooking and baking plant-based dishes due to their gel-like consistency when mixed with liquid.
What is chia pudding?
Chia pudding is a popular breakfast or snack. If you like overnight oats, chia pudding will also be likely up your street. Chia seeds are left to soak in your plant milk of choice, and creates an earthy, filling pudding. It is often topped with fruits and natural sweeteners for a delicious and fresh way to start your mornings.
Is Chia pudding good for you?
Chia pudding makes a really nutritionally rich breakfast or snack; It is also filling so will keep you full until lunch. Chia seeds are also very high in antioxidants, which help prevent cell damage from free radicals. They are also a good source of protein, which is especially good for those who are gluten-intolerant and coeliacs wanting a gluten-free breakfast and high protein meal or snack. Overall, chia seeds and chia pudding make an excellent addition to a healthy and balanced diet.
