The new Milk and Healthy Snack Scheme is due to come into play soon. It will see the government providing free plant-based milk (alongside dairy options) to children under five years old. It will replace the existing Nursery Milk scheme that has been in place since the 1940s which has meant children in school under five should have access to ⅓ of a pint of free milk per day.

The Aquaman frontman and environmental activist has teamed up with climbing apparel brand So iLL to launch a line of eco-friendly, vegan trainers made from algae. So iLL and Momoa joined forces with BLOOM, an organisation that aims to preserve ecosystems and reduce water pollution by turning ecologically harmful algae bloom into sustainable materials. The trainers have a rubber sole that has been mixed with Eco Pure, an enzyme that will help the trainers decompose faster if they end up in a landfill.

A student barrister has trialled wearing the first plant-based wig recently. Traditionally the wigs are made from horsehair, but with the evergrowing rise in plant-based living, is it really a surprise that this image, synonymous with the legal profession, could start becoming vegan too? The prototype has been made from hemp and is 100% biodegradable – a step up from the plastic, synthetic alternatives available.
