1. Kitkat To Launch Vegan Version, Insiders Report

Vegan Food UK, released a tantalising picture on their instagram clearly showing a Kitkat bar with a vegan label on it, sparking excitement that Kitkat will soon be rolling a plant-based version of the iconic chocolate bar soon enough. Though their source is somewhat shrouded in mystery, many are eagerly waiting for a formal announcement. 

2. National Geographic Names the Eight Best Cities For Vegans

Lockdown continues, but for many of us we’re counting down the days until we can jet off on holiday. National Geographic has provided a list of eight cities with buzzing vegan food scenes, with a mix of slow food, street food and fine dining to suit all needs. Warsaw, Poland is number one, followed by Bengaluru, India and Bangkok, Thailand respectively. Remember this when you’re thinking about where to travel next!

3. 1 in 5 Brits Expected To Eat Vegan Pancakes This Shrove Tuesday According To Latest Poll

A poll conducted by plant-based brand Squeaky Bean found that 1 in 5 of participants would eat vegan pancakes this coming pancake day. This perhaps comes as no surprise as vegan alternatives continue on their upward trend in popularity. This follows another major holiday period, Christmas, where polls stated more households were interested in vegan alternatives like nut roasts too. 

4. Morrison’s Launches New Vegan Street Food Market Store In Camden

Morrisons have launched a new store in Chalk Farm, selling vegan street eats for delivery and takeaway. The Morrisons unit is temporarily operating as a market while the store itself is being built. Serving vegan burgers, hot dogs, loaded fries and American-style grilled cheeses, the market is entirely plant-based and hopes to appeal to students and young people in the area. 

5. Dating App Veggly Celebrates Over One Million Matches On The Service

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and it would seem many people have taken to dating apps just in time. Veggly, a dating app for those on a plant-based diet seeking the same, has just exceeded a million matches and expects to hit two million by the middle of the year.
