1. Tesco Plans To Offer Plant-Based Alternatives For Every Non-Vegan Product

A leaked letter between Greenpeace and Tesco’s former CEO, David Lewis reveals that the supermarket plans to offer a vegan option for every animal product the shop sells. The letter brings awareness of the UK’s need to seriously reduce meat and dairy consumption and that the supermarket plans to help. Current CEO, Ken Murphy, has recently stated their goal of increasing plant-based meat alternative sales by 300% by the year 2025.

2. Oatly Set To Open The World’s Largest Vegan Milk Factory In The UK

The Swedish oat-milk brand has introduced plans to open their first UK factory in Peterborough in 2023 and bring with it 200 jobs. Oatly recognises the UK as an important driver in the ‘global plant-based movement’ according to Ishen Paran, General Manager at Oatly UK, and there is an ever-growing demand for Oatly products. 

3. Pret Launches Vegan Croissants At Tesco

If you’re looking for the fresh taste of Pret’s vegan pastries at home, you’ll be happy to hear that the high street chain has launched a range of three vegan croissants to bake at home. This is Pret’s first-ever supermarket launch and has already picked up a large volume of interest. 

4. Paloma Faith And Million Dollar Vegan Support Plant-Based Food Relief Project In Hackney

Million Dollar Vegan, an international NGO, are well underway to distribute one million plant-based meals around the world before the end of the year. They have most recently teamed with Made In Hackney to distribute hot meals in East London and will be helped in doing so with support from singer and actor, Paloma Faith.

5. Stella McCartney Introduces World’s First Mushroom Leather Trousers
