A long weekend means more time to make some of your favourite treats. So, whether your go-to is a chocolatey delight or you prefer something fresh and zesty, here’s some inspo to make your bank holiday sweet.

This decadent pie is the perfect treat for this long weekend — especially for any children who you may have in tow. It’s no-bake, which is ideal when rustling something up with little ones about and is a great activity to keep everyone busy. Hack away at your bag of Oreos for the crust, whip away at the filling and get your artist hat on with the decorations.

For a pie that is maybe a little more grown-up (though just as delicious), try your hand at this zesty, sweet meringue pie. Serve this to people (it serves 8-10!) and they’ll question whether it truly is vegan; it’s sweet, sour, buttery and smells heavenly, just like the original, and isn’t anywhere as difficult to make as it looks.

If you’re like us, you’re always in the mood for soft, gooey cookies. These don’t disappoint, and they’re too good to be reserved just for St Patrick’s day. The Guinness deepens the chocolate flavour and makes every bite fudgy, moist and completely decadent. Whether you’re a beer fan or not, these are certain to still hit the spot.
