Is Benefit Cruelty-Free And Vegan?

by Toni Olukiran

1min read

Benefit cosmetics is known and loved by many, especially for all things brows and lip tints — but is it cruelty-free, and are their products vegan? Read on for the lowdown.

About Benefit Cosmetics

Benefit is an American company, founded in San Francisco in 1976 by twin sisters Jean and Jane Ford. Selling makeup for eyes, lips and face, they are recognisable by their vintage branding and fun and relaxed approach to makeup.

Is Benefit Cruelty-free?

Unfortunately, Benefit is not cruelty-free. This is because they sell their products to Mainland China, where it is required by law for imported beauty products to be tested on animals first.

Is Benefit vegan?

Some products do not contain animal products, however they do not have a vegan beauty edit — and as they are not cruelty-free, they are not quite a vegan brand.
