Is Nutritional Yeast Vegan?

From sprinkling on top of indulgent pasta dishes to deepening stews and sauces, nutritional yeast has many uses, but is it vegan?

Nutritional yeast

Nutritional yeast, or nooch to anyone in the know, is deactivated yeast flakes that typically used to leaven bread. It can add a nutty, cheesy flavour to dishes as well as adding a hit of fortified B vitamins – most notably vitamin B12. 

It might slightly resemble a tub of fish food (not the ice cream) but trust us, it will change your plant-based lasagne game for the better.
