Nutritional yeast
Nutritional yeast, or nooch to anyone in the know, is deactivated yeast flakes that typically used to leaven bread. It can add a nutty, cheesy flavour to dishes as well as adding a hit of fortified B vitamins – most notably vitamin B12.
It might slightly resemble a tub of fish food (not the ice cream) but trust us, it will change your plant-based lasagne game for the better.
Is nutritional yeast vegan?
Yes, nutritional yeast is not only 100% plant-based but is also a big new (ish) player in the vegan game.
