Vegan Quorn is the savour of plant-based ‘meat’ dishes, but is the iconic brand also gluten free?
What is vegan Quorn?
Quorn products are plant-based meat substitutes made of protein from a fungus known as mycoprotein. For more information about Quorn and its vegan range, check out our guide to supermarket vegan meats.
Is vegan Quorn gluten-free?
There is a range of gluten free Quorn products, but only some of these meat alternatives are also vegan as well. Most Quorn products have rehydrated egg whites and breadcrumbs or other glutenous products, preventing them from being both vegan and gluten-free. The only products that are both vegan and gluten-free are:
- vegan pepperoni slices
- Smoky vegan ham slices
- Vegan chicken-free slices
Where to buy vegan and gluten-free Quorn products
These sandwich fillings can be found in major supermarkets, including Tesco and Sainsbury’s, so you’ll have no trouble adding these to your weekly shop.
