Popular in Asian cooking for centuries, particularly Indonesian cuisine where its roots lie, tempeh is also a firm favourite amongst vegans and vegetarians across the globe. Got some in the fridge but don’t know where to start? Here some zingy, flavour-packed and easy recipes to get you cooking with tempeh like a pro.

This crispy tempeh bowl makes a great meal, and it can be prepped and cooked in around half an hour. An orange glaze makes the tempeh sticky, sweet and savoury, giving a fakeaway edge that we all love and need in our lives. Paired with some smacked cucumber and sticky sushi rice, this dish is the hero of midweek meals.

Tempeh shows just how versatile it can be in this cultural fusion. The tempeh is crumbled and spiced to give it a crispy, golden crust to add amazing texture to the tacos. Coupled with grilled pineapple salsa, it creates a delicious blend of smoky and sweet flavours as well as soft and crispy textures. It’s really moreish, so if you eat more than your share, don’t blame us!
