Vegan Garlic Chilli Oil

Garlic. Chilli. Oil. You heard it right. And you are right to want it. Dial your dishes up a notch with this vibrant, flavourful, spicy garlic chilli oil. Drizzle it, dip into it, fry with it… the possibilities are endless. Before you know it, you’ll be adding it to pretty much everything you eat! Follow this easy, four-ingredient recipe to create this cupboard staple in no time.

Serves
a medium jar
Ingredients
½ cup minced chillies
8 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp chilli flakes
2 cups Neutral oil
Method
STEP 1
Heat the oil in a pan over low heat. Add the garlic and cook for about 4 minutes until just before it turns golden brown. Mix the chillies in and stir intermittently. After 5 minutes, add chilli flakes to give better texture to the finished chilli oil. Cook for a further 10 minutes until the mixture turns into a darker red colour.
STEP 2
Once cooked, leave the chilli oil to cool in the pan before transferring to a clean jar for storing. It should keep for a couple of months in your cupboard ready to use (it’s perfect with our vegan filipino siomai and vegan ramen recipes). Enjoy!
