Clued up on the best vegan high street restaurant launches for Veganuary 2021? The excitement doesn’t stop there – nope, not even close. As well as some of the high street heroes expanding their green offering, supermarkets have also added some amazing eats to their vegan ranges.

Here’s our pick of the best items to pick up in your next weekly supermarket shop to celebrate Veganuary.

It’s not just yurts and new skis you’ll pick up in that aisle this January – Aldi has loads in store for plant-lovers in 2021. New menu items include an arrabbiata pizza topped with vegan chicken a Jamaican-style chilli bean stew, coconut and apple dhal, and dairy-free ice cream. Have no fear – established favourites like Plant Menu’s Red Onion & Rosemary Sausages and the Earth Grown Classic Meatless Meatballs will still be on offer.

Co-op is our nearest supermarket at allplants, so we’re especially excited about its growing options for when the elevenses hits. The chain is set to nearly double the vegan offerings of its Gro brand in the new year. Favourites include Sizzle Steaks made with mushrooms and plant protein, Chick’n Kievs with a roast garlic filling, Mushroom & Spinach Wellington, meatless pies, and Linguine Meatball Marinara with a mildly spiced tomato sauce, mushroom meatballs, SunBlush tomatoes, vegan mozzarella, and parsley. The Plant Kitchen range is probably my favourite thing in the entire world, apart from maybe my dog when he’s behaving, so I’m really excited it’s expanding even further this Jan. I can’t wait to try the Melt in the Middle No-Fish Cakes, New York Style No Salt-Beef Pretzel Rolls, Chicken-les Tikka, No-Beef Meatballs, No-Chicken Southern Fried Tenders, Plant Kitchen BBQ No-Chicken Pieces, and Piri Piri No-Chicken Pieces.
