Flo’s vegan baking recipes
We’ve been lucky enough to have the chance to pick the brains of our very own Development Chef, Flo, who, as fate would have it, also happens to be a trained pastry chef – stay tuned for her:
- Plant-based sponge
- Vegan ganache
- And vegan buttercream
Let’s kick things off with the only vegan sponge recipe you’ll ever need. It’s light, fluffy and oh-so-versatile, making it perfect for cakes, tray bakes, and luckily in our case, easy vegan cupcakes.
If you’re wondering what’s in there instead of eggs and dairy-based butter, you’ll need plant-based milk and spread then a splash of cider vinegar and bicarbonate of soda (for the chemistry bit).
Vegan cupcake toppings
Once you’ve separated your mixture out into cupcake cases and put them in the oven, all that’s left to do is decorate. Hint – feel free to get creative with food colouring here!
Flo’s very proud of this simple and effective buttercream recipe. it’s sweet and smooth and comes together with just a few ingredients.
