The Best Vegan Snacks For Big Game Days

by Toni Olukiran

Whether you’re hosting the next football game or you’re getting people together to watch the Olympic games this summer, here are some delicious plant-based snacks for everyone to enjoy with a beer or cold glass of lemonade when watching big games this summer.

Four ingredient flatbread

Load up on this easy and delicious four-ingredient flatbread. It’s simple to make and ready to eat in 40 minutes, and it’s heavenly when fresh and warm from the pan. Pair with your favourite dips below and some crudites and you’ve got yourself a mezze-style feast at home.

Smoky tortilla chips

These Dorito-adjacent chips are crispy, smoky and extremely delicious. They're made with chickpea flour, so they're naturally gluten-free and high in protein for anyone that is on a gluten-free diet. They’re the ideal vessel for delicious plant-based dips included below.

Vegan caramelised onion dip

This dip is made up of a creamy, tangy and silky base of vegan greek yoghurt and silken tofu. With sweet, rich caramelised onion swirled throughout, it’s a perfect blend of sweet and savoury that goes excellently with your favourite crudites.

Chilli cashew queso dip

If you think plant-based food can’t be cheesy, think again. This dip is creamy, tangy and definitely cheesy, and is chucked full of a warming spice blend to give it a perfect smokiness throughout. Pair with the smoky tortilla chips for the ultimate Mexican-inspired snack.

Chewy chocolate chip cookies

Balance out the savoury with these sweet treats. Sweet, chunky and chewy, these cookies are everything you want from a chocolate chip cookie, and then some. These are certain to get the attention of vegan and non-vegans at the game — maybe to the point of distraction. Yes, they’re that good.

Chocolate tahini truffles

While it may seem like making truffles would be going the extra mile, these are in fact our favourite party trick, and are ridiculously easy to make.  They come together in 15 minutes but have enough richness to convince a crowd that countless hours of time and effort went into making them.
